The Straits of Magellan: Should They Be Called the Straits of Vespucci?: A Historical Mystery

It is proved that Magellan knew about the Straits of Magellan before he reached them in 1520. Research is presented that suggests that the true discoverer was the Italian explorer Amerigo Vespucci in 1501.
